HISTORY
The Capitalist was the brainchild of professional team ropers Kaleb Driggers and Kollin VonAhn with the vision to create a premiere event for the Open Ropers…by the Open Ropers. The first Capitalist event was held in Chickasha, OK in 2018 with $85,000 added and was a huge success. The Capitalist’s format is that unlike any other allowing ropers to pick one partner and draw one, creating great opportunity for all. The 2019 event grew and expanded from a two day event to a six day event with ropings all week accommodating ropers of all skill levels. The 2018 Open Champions of the Capitalist were Tyler Wade and Lane Mitchell, a draw team, took home over $21,000 a man. The 2019 champions were Levi Simpson and Craig VonAhn and followed suit, also being a draw team, and took home $30,000 a man! The goal of the Capitalist is to continue to thrive and grow creating opportunity for today’s Open Roper.
